Outline of the role!
The SEC consists of three venues – the OVO Hydro, SEC Centre and SEC Armadillo, each providing a truly unique experience for our guests.
At SEC Food, our Kitchen Porters play a key role in keeping our kitchens clean, safe and organised. You will thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment and have a positive can-do attitude while supporting the Head chef in keeping things running smoothly.
Our responsibilities include, helping the kitchen service run smoothly by making sure it is well stocked and clean, maintain hygiene levels and adhere to health and safety regulations, ensure all kitchen waste is disposed of correctly, and maintain cleanliness of kitchen area, including washing dishes, utensils and cooking equipment.

Role and Responsibilities:
· Operate dish washing machine and other cleaning equipment and utensils
· Clean work surfaces, shelving, floors, walls, cupboards, grease filters and grease traps
· Empty and clean rubbish bins, ensuring all kitchen waste is disposed of correctly
· Act in line with guidance and procedures from lead kitchen porter/lead chef, to ensure the team operates to its maximum potential.
· Adhere to agreed standards within the team and take pride in your work.
· Actively seek to develop new skills and further your knowledge to improve your personal performance
· Comply with all company and unit policies with regards to Health & Safety, Food Safety, Allergens, Hygiene, Manual Handling and COSHH.
· Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Essential Requirements:
· Ability to work under pressure in a fast -paced environment
· Good communication and team working skills
· Great attention to detail
· Positive attitude
· Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
Desirable:
· Previous experience working in a kitchen
