We are seeking a passionate, driven, and experienced Conference & Events Manager to lead and deliver exceptional experiences across our conference and events business at Newmarket Racecourses – part of The Jockey Club Catering.

About the Role

As our Conference & Events Manager, you’ll be at the heart of planning and delivering a wide variety of events – from corporate conferences to glamorous gala dinners. You’ll lead a dedicated team of casual and variable staff, working collaboratively with internal departments and external clients to ensure every event runs smoothly and leaves a lasting impression.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of all non-raceday conference and events activities
  • Build strong client relationships and maintain exceptional customer service standards
  • Motivate, train and manage a flexible workforce to deliver excellence in hospitality
  • Monitor and manage budgets, costs and profitability
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and legal regulations
  • Maintain high standards of food, presentation, and venue appearance
  • Support and contribute to the broader Jockey Club Catering team across sites when required

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Previous experience in a similar events or hospitality management role
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities
  • Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and cost controls
  • A passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences
